I had a business in decorative painting for over 20 years. During this time, I stepped into people’s homes (their personal spaces) and, with their input, made their rooms environmentally beautiful and inviting — spaces that would make them want to stay and linger.
The process involved making sample boards. These boards allow the client to see ahead and choose the preferred colors, techniques, and scale of their new environments.
BackSplash is the result of these sample boards — swaths of color on large wax paper once stapled to my studio wall. They are a visual history of paint overflow; they represent people’s desire for a change.
